Menswear Designer

Our client is a successful casualwear supplier.  If you are an inventive, self driven Menswear Designer with excellent CAD, Photoshop and Illustrator skills and are looking to join a company that’s committed to delivering consistently high standards in creative apparel solutions our client will offer the chance to be part of a fast-paced, dynamic design team.  They are looking for a menswear designer to join the team.

Reporting to the Menswear Buyer Director, you will be responsible for designing and developing the client’s apparel and some apparel with graphics design briefs, demonstrating a clear understanding of the customer and supporting the commercial targets..

Your duties will include:

Producing apparel and some graphic designs for apparel
Working directly with overseas suppliers and buyers to create collections
Building and maintaining close relationships with the buying and design team
Far East travel when required
Regularly attending meeting with buyers

The ideal candidate will possess:

Experience working within a fashion supplier or retailer
Exposure to young fashion environment
Working knowledge of UK High Street and cat walk trends
Ability to analyse and interpret cat walk and high street trends.
Ability to work under pressure and in fast paced design environment.
Strong CAD, Photoshop and Illustrator skills
Knowledge of producing initial specifications for first samples
Relevant experience in a design role
